Sensing Barcelona 2019

Sensing Barcelona is a team from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) competing in the SensUs 2019 event. For SensUs 2019, Sensing Barcelona investigated the possibilities for creating a biosensor which is able to measure the concentration of Adalimumab. The full TRD can be found via this link

Method

Lateral Flow immunoassay

Molecular Recognition

Adalimumab bonds to the antibody TNF-α.

Physical Transduction

Benefiting from the chemical and pigment properties of the colloidal gold molecule, characterized by its reddish colour, the device detects the intensity of the sample through image acquisition and associates it with a certain concentration. In other words, the intensity of the pigment is directly proportional to the amount of Adalimumab.

Reader Instrument

85.06x56.21 mm touchscreen.
